Who reviews a candidacy
Each candidacy is considered by reviewers appointed for the relevant technical section. Reviewers assess independently before the panel reaches its recommendation.
Who may serve as a reviewer
Requirements for appointment
- Established professional experience relevant to the technical section being assessed
- Experience evaluating professional or technical work
- Completes reviewer training and renews it periodically
- Appointed only to the sections they are qualified to serve
- Declares any conflict of interest with the candidate
Conflicts of interest
Step back where judgment could be affected
- A reviewer does not serve where a personal, professional, financial, supervisory, or organizational relationship could affect — or reasonably appear to affect — an independent assessment
- A majority of each panel must have no current employment or governance role with Meret Solutions
Confidentiality of panel appointments
Individual reviewer assignments for a candidacy are not published. Candidate materials, individual assessments, voting records, and panel deliberations are treated as confidential.
The Association maintains administrative records sufficient to document reviewer appointment, conflicts checks, the assessment process, and the resulting decision.
Oversight and consistency
The Governance Board maintains the assessment framework and watches for consistency across panels. It confirms that the published procedure was followed; it does not repeat the panel's assessment.
Reconsideration and appeals
A candidate may ask for a decision to be reconsidered. An appeal is heard by a panel convened for that purpose, separate from those who made the original decision.
Technical sections
Each Fellow is elected within one technical section.
